The state of north carolina had fine john man because of slave named lidia. Lidia ran away and john man shot her. Lidia refused to work for her and she ran away and got shot. But man feels like the court has no say in this case because it's there property. John man did no see them has a person and committed a mortal sin. This goes against the 8th amendment since it was cruel and unusual punishment. Lidia jones was a human and did care about her, he looked at her as just work.

Murder is a life sentence but this case is over five dollars which is unexcuseable. John man did show any remorse after the murder. John man could walk into a store, buy a candy bar and shoot it. This is because it is there property, I shot her but she did not die. John man bought this slave with his own money. To have power over there slave they need to punish them if they do wrong to show your will. State shall not interfere with property. Man is not guilty because he had just reasons to shoot her. Slavery is legal in north carolina and the whole econmics in north carolina will collaspe.
