The Supreme Court is unique and holds a third of the power in the United States. The reason this system is unique is that their are nine people that have to make decisions on law and are operating in the confines of the constitution. The court has a odd amount of judges so there will always be a decision that's agreed upon by a majority. I have always had mixed feelings about the Supreme Court.

I have never liked the idea that these judges are supposed to be the wisest and most knowing among us. And getting nominated for the Supreme Court is dependent on who the president is. The problem with this is the court is either left or right leaning and typically know what the decision of the case is before they go out there. The Supreme Court causes more gridlock and that how the system was designed. The court has made controversial decisions for example Dred Scott vs Sandford. This case made it so African Americans could not sue in federal court.
